Hi, it’s Andrew November, your long-term disability attorney. Today, we’re gonna talk about something really serious, something really terrible, but something that happens every single day, and that’s called surveillance. Long-term disability insurance companies rely on surveillance all the time to deny cases. Fortunately, it’s one of the weakest ways to deny cases, unfortunately it’s an invasion of your privacy and it’s disturbing and it’s illegal. Surveillance comes by many forms, however often we see video surveillance. So, what that means is a long-term disability insurance company is going to hire a local private investigator to sit outside your house and to film your house, and to hopefully capture you leaving your house and engaging in benign, daily activates. Typically, they spend about 30 hours outside your house. They’re gonna record everything that they see and not just you, they’re gonna record family member, friends, and anybody who interacts with you. Another type of surveillance is photography often combined with the video, they’ll take pictures – again they’ll photograph licenses plates, individuals, and any activity they see. Another form of surveillance is Facebook and other types of social media. I typically see Facebook the most because I think that’s the most popular social media website with our typical demographic, but that’s easy to fix. In fact, if you contact us, we’ll even send you a guide on adjust your privacy settings. We have videos made, as well as documents that you step by step how to go onto your desktop computer, your laptop, or your cell phone to adjust your privacy settings so the insurance companies can’t snoop on you. Your disability changes every day. Surveillance is worthless and does not prove anything. If you’ve been denied because your insurance company’s recorded you, I wanna know about it right away. If you think you’re being recorded right now, stop watching this video and contact me immediately so we can stop this invasion of privacy.
